Riverview Missionary Baptist Church
Short-term Mission Trip Ministry
The objective of the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church Short-Term Mission Trip Ministry is to assist Christians to better understand mission in the 21st century by participating in cross-cultural mission ministry.
Participants are required to attend at least four mission trip orientation classes which discuss mission ministry as the central focus of the Church and the implications for the Church in the remaining tasks of God’s plan for worldwide redemption. Mission trip orientation classes cover the following topics:
· Biblical Foundations and Historical Perspectives of Mission
· Mission Ministry Cycle
· Missionary Adjustment in the Cross-Cultural Context
· Stages of Missionary Acculturation Process
· The Mission Process
Short-term mission trips are taken to the Kingdom of Swaziland, Lesotho and South Africa in the months of July and December. On the July mission trip team members take part in the Annual General Assembly of the African United National Baptist Churches and on the December mission trip team members participate at the Annual Youth Conference of the African United National Baptist Churches. Additionally, in country, team members will also engage in ministry activities throughout the trip where they will exercise their individual ministry gifts. Trip also includes an over-night safari before returning to the United States.
The next (and first) Short Term Mission Trip Orientation meeting will be held on March 26, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Riverview. If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Dr. Roxanne Jones Booth at email@example.com or 518-424-7799.
